Work stress may kill women
Something that you should take a note of, especially if you are a woman.
If you are stressed-out at work or are stressing, it could be fatal for you.
After analysing data on 140,000 workers, researchers found that those with high-stress jobs were 22% more likely than their peers to suffer a stroke.
The risk was acute for women, who were 33% more likely to have a stroke if their jobs were stressful.
For pregnant women, stress at work could even affect the development of the baby. 2,900 mothers filled questionnaires about stress at both 18 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. Some years later, when these babies turned 10, 14, and 17 years of age they tested the kids’ motor development like hand strength, jumping distance and fine motor skills. The researchers found that kids who were born to mothers who experienced the most stress during pregnancy had the lowest scores on motor development.
