Some foods to avoid while breastfeeding
If your newborn is cranky and crying for no apparent reason after being breastfed, it could be the food that you have been eating.
Foods that are known to produce gas in adults are likely to do the same in the newborn too.
Beans, soy, cabbage, broccoli are notorious in causing colicky pains making the newborn cry.
Stop these foods for a few days and the newborn is all smiles again.
There are lots of foods that can cause hosts of symptoms – from colicky pains in the abdomen of the newborn to skin rashes, diarrhoea, vomiting, etc.
If any these or other symptoms are noticed, visit a doctor but also be mindful of foods that you eat that could be the culprit. Just stop those foods likely to be causing the symptoms and all is well again.
An unwell child can stress the mother and make her unwell too!
