Sensation of touch in a artificial hand

Research is a wonderful profession; it can reshape life and bring happiness to living beings.

A 28-year old paralysed man in the US is the first person to ‘feel’ physical sensation through a artificial hand directly connected to the brain, the US researchers have claimed.

The research was made possible by neural technologies developed under US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s Revolutionising Prosthetics, and indicates that in future paralysed people will not only be able to manipulate objects by sending signals from their brain to the devices but will also be able to sense what those devices are touching.
