Reducing the double chin on your face
One fine morning when you see yourself carefully in the mirror you notice you have two chins….and decide to hit the gym. It is good to go to the gym but if you are going to the gym to reduce the double chin, you need not.
Improving your diet and gymming might work to reduce the double chin, but it is worth giving a try to the following exercises:
- Chin lift: Sit or stand straight and simply lift the chin towards the ceiling. As you do this pucker the lips for a count of ten. Do this 10 times daily. When you lift your chin, the muscles of your neck, throat and jaw get toned slowly helping you reduce the double chin.
- Chewing: Again sit or stand straight. Take deep breaths and as you inhale and exhale move the jaws as if chewing. This is considered to be the most effective exercise for the purpose. Repeat this process up to 10 times a day.
- Head lifts: Lie face up on a mat. Now slowly lift and curl the head toward the chest as far as possible. While this is being done, make sure the shoulders are kept flat on the mat. Hold for 10 seconds and then slowly relax the neck to return the head to the starting position. Head lifts can be done every day even while you are just lying on the bed, just make sure you are not full stomach.
- Tongue touch: Sit with the back straight and shoulders down. Now tilt the head up and forcefully press your tongue to the upper palate (the roof of the mouth). While continuing to press the tongue to the roof of the mouth, lower the chin to the chest as far as possible, keeping the back straight. Keep this position for a count of five and slowly increase it to ten. Then relax your tongue and straighten your neck to return to the starting position. Repeat this about 40 times and say bye to the double chin.
- Neck rolls: Sit or stand straight. Roll your neck to the sides and then forwards and backwards. This will tone your neck as well as helps you reduce or get rid of the double chin. Repeat this as many times in a day and do it daily. It also helps ease neck and shoulder pain.
Have patience while losing that double chin. It takes a while. Just follow the above exercises to see the results.
