Paraplegic man walks using brain power
A brain-to-computer technology has enabled a paralysed man, for the first time, to walk without the use of robotics; doctors in Southern California recently published this feat in the British-based Journal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation. A YouTube video was also released.
The outcome marks a promising but incremental achievement in the development of brain-computer interfaces that may one day help stroke and spinal injury patients regain mobility.
