Occupational Health: what is it

Occupational Health or OH as it is popularly known is a specialty branch of medicine that deals with effect of job (work) on health and vice-versa.

All work have some effect on health – it is the duty of OH Physician to minimize the effect of work on the health status of an individual.

Similarly, if the individual is not in good health, it can have an effect on the job being done – the OH Physician will modify the work being done by the individual if found have health issues. If the job is not modified it can lead to further deterioration of health and can even compromise on the safety of the individual, coworker(s) or even the entire establishment.
