Occupational burnout is a major cause of depression and stress

It’s no more 9 to 5; rather it is 9 to ‘I don’t know’.

Too much work, deadlines, difficult boss, unreasonable colleagues, nasty gossip, etc. cause frustrations. Add to that a monotonous workday.

If these happen once a while, it would not be a topic of discussion. When it happens day after day, it can lead to stress and even depression.

One loses out not only on personal life but also on the social front. The time for an evening out with friends, a great de-stressor is also gone.

Losing out on precious time to ‘over’ work leads to unrest in personal and social life – a recipe for disaster. The family doubts you and friends isolate you.

It is very depressive when friends stop calling you. Equally frustrating and depressive is when you have to clarify at home, to your parents or spouse or even your children, about your absence.
