Minimising damage due to stroke

A new research in rodents (mouse) suggests that a drug that blocks the action of a key enzyme Cdk5 could reduce brain damage if administered shortly after a stroke. The finding in rodents indicated that aberrant Cdk5 activity causes death of nerve cell during stroke. Written by: Dr. Ajay Sati.
