Kiwi, a fruit you must know
Although originally native to China, it is now widely believed that Kiwi is native to New Zealand. It is also grown in California.
Kiwis aren’t high on calories; containing only about 50 calorie per fruit. It is a good source of dietary fibre and hence useful for those wanting to lose weight.
The black seeds are a source of insoluble fibre and useful to treat constipation.
It creates gel-like substances that trap bile acids and hence it has the potential to reduce blood cholesterol levels.
Kiwis have lots of Vitamin C which are essential for wound healing and healthy gums. It has adequate amounts of Magnesium for your bone health.
Kiwis are loaded with antioxidants, flavonoids and carotenoids. Flavonoids keep the blood vessels healthy as they decrease inflammation.
Though Kiwi fruit is new to India, it should be incorporated in one’s fruit list.
