How to lower BP to 120
Blood Pressure (BP) is usually untreated if the systolic (higher of the two readings) levels exceed beyond 140. Recent large study from National Institutes of Health suggests that it is worth treating patients in their prehypertension grey area of 120 to 140, so that it is in the normal range.
The findings, which have not yet been published and are still preliminary, found lower rates of heart attack, stroke and death among people with high blood pressure who brought that top number down to 120.
There are many lifestyle interventions too that a person can practice to lower the BP:
1. Medicate
2. Lose weight
3. Exercise
4. Low salt intake
5. Eat more fruits/vegetables
6. Have chocolates
7. Don’t binge drink
8. Meditate
