Gym-replacing pill ?
If you hate going to the gym, your wait is probably over.
According to a latest study conducted in British Columbia, scientists are very close to developing a pill that will deliver the same health benefits as a workout in the gym. That means you will be able to lose weight without actually doing any strenuous activity.
These ‘exercise pills’ are said to mimic some of the beneficial effects of workouts and aim to boost muscle performance and increase strength.
But they may not be able to replicate the other benefits of exercising, like improving cognitive function, bone strength and cardiovascular function, warn experts; and one would still have to engage in aerobic activity or weight training to achieve that.
