Drink wine at bedtime to lose weight
Studies from Washington State University (WSU) and Harvard have indicated that wine can be a way to lose weight due to the calorie busting chemical resveratrol.
Scientists have found that wine can help convert white fat into the less offensive beige fat, helping drinkers stay slimmer.
Drinking two glasses, or half a bottle a day, can help beat obesity by 70 per cent.
The best time to drink the wine is late at night, according to a separate study by WSU and Harvard that was done in 2012.
Evening snacking is a common cause of weight gain, showing once again that wine and weight loss go hand in hand.
In an another study, Harvard monitored 20,000 people and found that non-drinkers were the ones gaining large amounts of weight.
But it is good to remember the research on resveratrol by Professor Min Du published in June last year; he wrote: ‘Many of the beneficial polyphenols are insoluble and get filtered out during the wine production process.’
Hence snacking on berries, grapes and apples – all natural sources of resveratrol could be as effective as taking wine at bedtime.
