Chewing gum causes headaches
Chewing gums can cause headache, especially in teenage girls as they are avid chewers.
Researchers found that out of 30 patients, 26 reported significant improvement and 19 complete resolution of headache after stopping chewing gum.
When 20 of the improved patients went back to chewing gum, all of them had relapse of headache almost immediately.
Researchers also noted that most of those who reported headache were daily gum chewers.
When patients left chewing gums, the headache appreciably reduced if not totally disappeared.
