Apples are back: to reduce risk of diseases
According to a study reported in the British Medical Journal, prescribing an apple a day to adults over 50 years of age and above would prevent or delay around 8500 vascular deaths like heart attacks and stroke every year in the U.K alone.
This is similar to use of statins that are widely prescribed to prevent vascular deaths.
The choice is yours, to take an apple or statins, but the old adage ‘an apple a day keeps a doctor away’ is true is proved once again.
