A selfie can make you happy
If you want to be happy, take a selfie – according to a recent research.
Google estimates that, in 2014, at least 93 million selfies a day were posted on Android phones alone, and the Pew Research Center says more than 91% of teenagers have posted a self portrait online.
For people above 40, selfie was a reason for unhappy outcomes – last year, more people died worldwide while taking selfies than from shark attacks – mostly from falling but also from being hit by vehicles and even gored by a bull.
There are many things that contributes to one’s happiness – selfie is one – and its contribution may be too small. It is advisable to explore the many other easier options for happiness.
Taking too many selfies is called selfism – and it may not be good and may lead to a host of issues – obsession with self leading to psychosocial maladjustment, narcissism, addition, suicide, etc.
