Peanuts are good for your heart
Peanuts, if included in a high fat meal may protect your heart from the harmful effect of such a diet, says a study that was presented at the 79th Scientific Session and Annual Meeting 0f the American Society for Nutrition in Boston recently.
Xiaoran Liu, lead researcher and graduate student at the Pennsylvania State University, USA, said, ‘Previous studies have shown that individuals who consume peanuts more than two times a week have a lower risk of coronary heart disease. This study indicates that the protective effect of peanut consumption could be due, in part, to its beneficial effect on artery health’.
