Quit smoking: women live 10 years more
Women who quit smoking add 10 years to life
Isn’t it great news for women who smoke. Quit smoking before 40 and add 10 years to life.
A recent study conducted in over a million women found that smokers have 3 times the risk of dying early compared to non-smokers.
But the good news is that women who quit smoking before 40 have better odds of a long life.
Rachel Huxley, PhD, a professor of epidemiology and community health at the University of Minnesota said, ‘Quitting today can help you down the line, as the sooner you take your last drag the longer you are likely to live’.
The reason attributed was that quitting ealry exposes to fewer years of cigarette toxins that are linked to lung cancer, heart disease and stroke.
