61% Indian women have high ‘bad’ cholesterol
In a pan India study done in 10 metros and non-metros, it was found that 61% young women have high levels of ‘bad’ or LDL cholesterol putting them at a higher risk of developing early heart disease, unless something was drastically done to reduce the levels.
A fat-restricted diet and regular exercises were the first steps that should be taken, followed by a medical consultation to ascertain if medication is required to bring down the levels of ‘bad’ cholesterol.
