Guava can prevent diabetes
Chinese medicine has long back mentioned about the anti-diabetic effect of guava. A study published in American Journal of Chinese Medicine showed that 1 gram/kg guava juice significantly reduced sugar levels in diabetes. The study suggested that guavas improve as well as prevent the development of diabetes.
Guavas possess insulin-like activity and rich fiber content along with low glycemic index. The fiber helps regulate the sugar levels while the low glycemic index prevents sudden spikes in blood sugar levels.
