Foot aches – why?
Have you ever wondered how common must be foot aches!
8 in 10 Americans experience some form of problem with their feet. About 25 percent say they’re unable to exercise due to foot pain; and this is not surprising if you realize that 25 percent of the bones are located in the feet and ankles, Feet are the foundation of the body, carrying all the weight.
Each foot has 26 bones and 33 joints and hence there is every opportunity for something to go wrong, especially if you walk and run without proper form and posture. Wearing certain footwear like the flip-flops, and tight-fitting or high-heeled shoes also can damage the foot structure and aggravate the situation.
Not paying attention to exercising the feet, and without proper muscle strength in the feet, the body tends to become imbalanced leading to pain in other areas.
Simple foot exercises and wearing proper footwear can make a big difference for problems such as plantar fasciitis (heel pain), bunions and hammertoes.
