Meat-free proteins for you
You are a veggie….and worried about proteins. Apart from meat and eggs the following meat-free proteins are as good for everything – from healthy hair to nails to a good muscular body. Proteins take a lot more time to digest than carbs but keep you fuller for a long time.
Some examples of meat-free proteins:
- Beans
Chickpeas, brown lentils, soy beans, black-eyes peas, peanuts, pinto beans, mung beans, red kidney beans (rajma in Hindi), green beans, etc. - Green Peas
- Paneer
Also known as cottage cheese. - Milk / Curd
Have these as main meals or in between to make sure you take enough proteins for the day.
