Smoking more harmful than the AIDS virus
In a person who has HIV infection, smoking is more harmful than the HIV virus itself.
Smoking cigarettes may shorten the lifespan of people living with HIV more than the virus itself, scientists at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School have found.
For people with HIV who adhere well to medicines, the scientists found that smoking reduces life expectancy by twice as much as HIV virus.
Beware – people who have HIV infection – smoking may kill you faster than the HIV virus!
