Higher incidence of heart disease in athletes
Recent findings build on previous research and published in BMJ Open Sport and Exercise Medicine has found that masters athletes have a higher incidence of cardiovascular disease than non-athletes of the same age with similar risk factors.
A master athlete is defined as a person older than 35 years (as this is the age at which cardiovascular issues tend to become a greater cause of morbidity) who either trains for or takes part in athletic competitions often specifically designed for older participants. Age 35 is an age at which cardiovascular risk in a person becomes a greater cause of concern.
The learning probably is assess your health risk profile by a doctor and not over-exert to exercise but do that is reasonable for your age and risk profile!
