Post-exercise stretches
Just as you warm up before doing exercises, you must as well stretch after completion of exercises.
Post-exercise stretches relax your muscles that have become tight or tense after a strenuous exercise session. It also lengthens the muscles and improves mobility.
Stretching helps in controlling the shakiness that can develop as a result of involuntary muscular contractions after a strenuous workout.
Important: Stretch until you feel a slight pull in the muscle and stop if it pains. A gym instructor should be able to help you demonstrate the various stretches.
Do not skip the stretches due to lack of time; make time for it as they are useful in improving mobility, restoring balance and reducing soreness, if any, after an exercise session.
